USG Boral Building Products 50% (50:50 Joint Venture between USG Corporation & Boral Ltd)

USG-Zawawi Drywall (SFZ) LLC is a joint venture formed in the Salalah Free Zone between Zawawi Minerals LLC and USG Boral Building Products. The joint venture is to manufacture USG Sheetrock Brand Gypsum Board for sale domestically as well as export to Indian and other markets.

USG Corporation and Boral brings world class expertise in gypsum board manufacturing over its 100 years of experience in the industry. As an additional element, USG Corporation will transfer technologies and skills into the JV’S operations. Combined with the local and regional market knowledge, understanding and experience, as well as local execution capability of Zawawi Minerals, USG-Zawawi Drywall is in a unique position to deliver high quality products and capture market share. The products manufactured with world class American technology will be marketed as SHEETROCK® Brand Gypsum Board with “made-in-Oman” branding, thereby enhancing the Omani industrial brand image in international markets.

Part of the production will be used in the Sultanate of Oman as an import substitute.
